TALENT IDENTIFICATION DAY AND TRIALS
The Warwickshire Association holds a Talent Identification Day and
Trials for young players every year, normally at Sydenham Sports
Centre, Leamington Spa on the second weekend of September.
There are four age groups:- Junior (Under 18), Cadet (Under 15),
Under 13 and Under 11. A player's age is that on the forthcoming 31
December. The Junior and Cadet events are used to help pick
Warwickshire's Junior and Cadet teams to compete in English County
Championships.
The Under 11, Under 13 and Cadet (Under 15) events are normally held
on the Saturday. This is designated Talent Identification Day to
emphasize that all young players in these age groups are welcome,
regardless of their experience and standard.
Local Leagues are asked to invite ALL young players to take part in
Talent Identification Day and to forward the names of all those
interested together with those considered suitable for the Junior
(U18) trials.
The Cadet, Under 13 and Under 11 events are also used to select
players to take part in the West Midlands Regional Event which in
turn is used to select players for the National Event.
The Junior (Under 18) trials are normally held on the Sunday of the
same weekend.
